Ali Abdi Ali Hoshow, a seasoned diplomat, has obtained a master’s degree in political science from the prestigious Somali National University (SNU) as of 2024. Additionally, his academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree in international relations and diplomacy, underscoring a strong foundation in essential aspects of global affairs.
With a career spanning over a decade, Ali Abdi Ali Hoshow has made significant contributions to the diplomatic landscape of Somalia. He assumed the pivotal role of Director of the Department of Communication and Technology at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on June 6, 2021. This strategic position places him at the forefront of shaping and executing communication strategies in alignment with Somalia’s foreign policy objectives.
His journey with the Ministry began on June 20, 2011, when he was appointed as the Head Section of the Press and and Public Relations (PPR) under the office of the Permanent Secretary. In this capacity, Ali Hoshow played a crucial role in managing the flow of information and fostering positive relationships with the media.
Prior to his role at the Ministry, Ali Abdi Ali Hoshow showcased his media prowess by working as a Producer and News Coordinator at the Al Jazeera TV bureau in Mogadishu in 2006. His talents were further recognized when he assumed the position of Director of the Al Arabiya channel’s bureau in Somalia in 2007. As a news correspondent, he made significant contributions to several renowned Arab channels, radio stations, and newspapers, including the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC), Egyptian TV, Al-Aan TV, the Qatari Al-Raya newspaper, the Qatari Al-Arab newspaper, and Sudan Radio.
His early career saw him immersed in the realm of radio broadcasting, starting with the government radio station Radio Mogadishu, Voice of the Somali Republic, in July 2001. Here, he ascended to the role of General Editor of Programs and News, showcasing his editorial acumen. He later assumed the position of Deputy Director of Voice of Peace Radio in Galkayo in May 2004, further solidifying his leadership skills.
In 2005, Ali Abdi Ali Hoshow took on the role of International News Editor for Radio Shabelle in Mogadishu, contributing to the station’s coverage of global events. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, a keen understanding of international relations, and the ability to navigate complex diplomatic landscapes.
