Mogadishu (MFASomalia) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expresses its gratitude to the House of People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia for approving the treaty agreement for the country’s accession to the East African Community (EAC). This significant step, taken on Saturday, marks Somalia’s progression towards becoming an official member of the regional economic bloc.
After years of diplomatic efforts, Somalia was admitted to the East African Community on December 15, 2023. The approval by the House of People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia underscores a crucial milestone in Somalia’s integration into the East African Community, signaling a strategic move towards regional cooperation and economic development.
