Mahad Mohamed Abukar

Mahad Mohamed Abukar is a seasoned legal professional and diplomat who has made significant contributions to the field of international relations. Currently serving as the Director of Legal and Treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, he has been at the forefront of shaping legal frameworks and policies that govern diplomatic relations.

Mahad embarked on his journey in the realm of international affairs in 2012 when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Since then, he has steadily risen through the ranks, showcasing his expertise and commitment to the field.

In pursuit of academic excellence and a deeper understanding of international trade policies and laws, Mahad pursued a Master’s degree in International Trade Policy Law (MITPL) at Lund University in Sweden from 2021 to 2023. His dedication to continuous learning is evident in his completion of an Executive Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade Policy and Trade Law at the Trade Policy Training Center in Africa (TRAPCA) of Tanzania from 2021 to 2022.

His educational journey includes a Post-graduate Diploma in International Law from Somali National University in 2019-2020, an Under-Graduate Diploma of Law from Mogadishu University in 2014-2015, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business from Asia e University Malaysia’s School of Management in 2012-2014.

Mahad’s academic foundation was laid at Mogadishu University, where he pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from 2008 to 2012, specializing in Economics and Management Science. This diverse educational background reflects his commitment to gaining comprehensive knowledge in law, business, and international affairs.
