The 25th anniversary of the East African Community (EAC) was marked with a vibrant celebration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation headquarters in Mogadishu. The event brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to commemorate this significant milestone for Somalia and the entire EAC region.
In attendance were the Permanent Secretary, His Excellency Hamza Haadow, the Director of EAC Economic Integration, various directors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the Somali business community, civil society leaders, and students from various universities. Members of the general public also joined the celebrations, underscoring the inclusivity and significance of the event.
The function highlighted Somalia’s active engagement and dedication to the values of the EAC, including unity, cooperation, and shared development goals. Speeches, discussions, and activities showcased the importance of Somalia’s membership in the EAC and its role in fostering regional collaboration and integration.
