Cairo (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, met in Cairo with the Swedish State Secretary to the Minister of Migration at the Ministry of Justice, H.E. Anders Tore Hall, on the margins of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Khartoum Process, hosted by Egypt on April 9.
During their meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of migration management and strategic partnerships.
The discussions focused on fostering joint efforts to address the challenges of irregular migration, while promoting development, stability, and sustainable progress.
Minister Fiqi conveyed his deep appreciation for Sweden’s hospitality towards the Somali community and underscored the longstanding partnership between Somalia and Sweden, especially in the area of development cooperation. He expressed his aspiration to see these ties further strengthened to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
