Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – State Minister H.E. Ali Omar today met with Somali business leaders, including bank associations, the Somali Chamber of Commerce, the Communications Association, and women in business, to discuss Somaliaโ€™s integration into the East African Community and ensure the private sector is fully involved in the process.

The meeting attended by the the Director Geneal for East African Community at the Ministry Mohamed Fatir, focused on practical steps to prepare Somali businesses for regional markets, address regulatory and financing challenges, and shape policies that support competitiveness and growth across East Africa. The government reaffirmed its commitment to continued engagement with the private sector to turn EAC membership into tangible economic opportunities.
