Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, received on Monday in his office at the Ministry the Turkish delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Prof. Burhanettin Duran, and discussed with him ways to strengthen bilateral relations, enhance strategic cooperation, and expand mutually beneficial partnerships in key sectors.

Deputy Minister Duran conveyed the greetings of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Minister Ahmed Fiqi, emphasizing progress on the Ankara Declaration of December 11, 2024.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of implementing signed agreements in key sectors, including defence, investment, fisheries, and natural resources, reinforcing the necessity of a robust partnership that fosters sustainable development, drives economic progress, and ensures long-term stability for mutual benefit.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Isaak Mohamud Mursal, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, H.E. Mr. Hamza Adan Haadoow, and some senior officials from the Ministry, during which the discussions highlighted the shared commitment to advancing the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, further strengthening their cooperation and fostering mutual interests in key areas.
