Somalia Participates in Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting Ahead of Baghdad Summit

Baghdad (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, participated on Thursday in the preparatory meeting for the 34th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers at the Summit Level, held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The meeting, chaired by Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, H.E. Fuad Hussein, was attended by Arab foreign ministers and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The ministers convened in a closed session to review and endorse the draft agenda and draft resolutions of the summit, scheduled to take place on May 17.Key items on the agenda include strengthening joint Arab action, with a focus on the Palestinian cause, regional security, and combating terrorism.
