The Federal Republic of Somalia extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sidi Ould Tah on his election as the ninth President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, a distinguished achievement that reflects his unwavering dedication to advancing Africa’s economic and social progress.

Somalia recognizes the critical role the Bank will play under his leadership in guiding the continent towards resilience, innovation, and sustainable development, particularly through transformative initiatives aligned with Africa’s Agenda 2063, which seek to promote inclusive and equitable prosperity among member states.

As we welcome Dr. Tah’s presidency, Somalia looks forward to strengthening cooperation on key continental priorities, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), infrastructure development, and climate change adaptation programs, all essential to Africa’s shared vision of growth and integration.
