Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) –The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Hassan Mohamed Ali, today opened a roundtable at the Ministry’s headquarters, convened with the ICRC to present a study on the compatibility of Somali law with the Additional Protocols to the Geneva Conventions. The meeting brought together Parliament, federal institutions, security agencies and humanitarian partners to advance Somalia’s accession.
Accession will align Somalia’s laws with its obligations under the Geneva Conventions. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to coordinating the process with Parliament and partners.
