
Jeddah, (MFA Somalia) – H.E. Hassan Mohamed Ali (Nadaara), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led Somalia’s delegation to the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, convened on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif and the election of the Organisation’s next Secretary-General. Somalia reaffirmed its solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for justice and lasting settlement in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Session elected H.E. Ismaïl Ould Cheikh Ahmed of Mauritania as Secretary-General for the 2027-2032 term. Somalia congratulated him, commended the service of his predecessor, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, and reaffirmed its commitment to Islamic solidarity and collective action.
