Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – H.E. Abdisalam Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today signed the Host Country Agreement with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) at the Ministry’s Headquarters. On behalf of UNOPS Executive Director Mr. Jorge Manuel Lopes Moreira da Silva, the Agreement was presented for signature by UNOPS Somalia Country Director Mr. Ala’a Nemer.
The Host Country Agreement formalizes the arrangements governing UNOPS’s presence and operations in Somalia, reflecting the Federal Government’s commitment to anchoring the work of United Nations entities in structured arrangements that respect national ownership.
