Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Isaak Mohamud Mursal, today received at the Ministry’s headquarters the newly appointed Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Horn of Africa (OSESG), H.E. Huang Cong, accompanied by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, James Swan.

The PS H.E Hamza Haadow and the Director General for East Africa, Mohamed Fatir, were also present.

The meeting reviewed the evolving dynamics of the Horn of Africa and underscored the importance of peace and stability across the region. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed Somalia’s readiness to contribute constructively to regional peace, security, and cooperation, while both sides emphasized coordinated multilateral engagement and the indispensable role of regional and continental organizations in advancing sustainable stability.
