Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – H.E. Hassan Mohamed Ali, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today received 129 Somali nationals who returned home from Libya under the Voluntary Humanitarian Return programme. Of the returnees, 110 arrived at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, while 19 landed in Hargeisa.
The Deputy Minister welcomed the returnees home and reaffirmed the Federal Government???s commitment to protecting Somali citizens abroad and supporting their safe, dignified, and sustainable reintegration upon their return. Representatives of the Office of the Special Envoy to the President on Refugees, the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs (NCRI), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Somalia attended the reception, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation in assisting vulnerable Somali migrants.
