FM Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, immediately after returning from the UNGA summit in New York, condemned the illegal arms infiltration from Ethiopia, calling it a serious threat to Somalia’s national security.
He emphasized the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to protect the country’s borders, especially in the Gedo region, and called on Ethiopia to respect international agreements.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude to Turkey for its ongoing diplomatic efforts in mediating talks between Somalia and Ethiopia.
He reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to dialogue, with Turkey playing a crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Additionally, FM Fiqi addressed the need to improve Indian visa services for Somali citizens, urging the establishment of a visa center in Mogadishu to facilitate easier access for those traveling for education, healthcare, and business.
