New Director of Archives Department officially assumes duties

Dr. Ahmed Oman Dhore has officially assumed his duties as Director of the Archives Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, succeeding Amb. Mohamed Ibrahim Awaale (Charles), following his appointment by Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi.


In his remarks, the newly appointed Director emphasized his commitment to managing and modernizing the MFA’s archival system in line with the Minister’s directives. He pledged to enhance document organization, update records, and implement a systematic numbering process, ensuring transparency, professionalism, and efficiency.

He underscored the importance of accelerating efforts to preserve and utilize archives, which he described as an invaluable heritage that must be safeguarded while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.


Dr. Ahmed Oman Dhore highlighted the significance of a modern digital storage and archiving system, noting that this initiative would protect records from deterioration, facilitate efficient retrieval, and strengthen institutional knowledge.He also affirmed his commitment to enhancing the capabilities of department staff to manage the digital archive effectively.
