Kampala (MFA Somalia) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Kampala on Thursday to participate in the Extra-Ordinary Summit of the Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) Plus Somalia.

The summit brings together the leaders of Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Egypt, Kenya, and Uganda, the countries contributing troops to the mission. During the summit, President Hassan Sheikh will highlight the progress made by Somalia in the fight against terrorism and engage with fellow leaders on strengthening coordinated efforts to eliminate the Kharijites.
Set to take place on Friday (25 April), the summit follows a series of preparatory sessions, including the TCCs Senior Officials Meeting on 22 April, the TCCs Plus Somalia Technical Meeting on 23 April, and the Ministerial Meeting of Foreign Affairs and Defense Ministers on 24 April.
