Belgrade, (MFA Somalia) – H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, arrived today in Belgrade to lead Somalia’s delegation to the High-Level Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), held from 1 to 2 September 2026. The President was welcomed on arrival by senior Serbian officials and will be received by H.E. Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia. The Somali delegation includes H.E. Abdisalam Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who arrived in Belgrade earlier today.
Somalia’s participation at the level of Head of State reaffirms its commitment to the founding principles of the Movement, including sovereignty, territorial integrity and the peaceful settlement of disputes. The President is expected to set out Somalia’s positions during the meeting and to hold bilateral engagements on the margins.
