The Federal Republic of Somalia welcomes the historic and principled announcement by the French Republic expressing its intention to recognize the State of Palestine. This significant step constitutes a reaffirmation of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and sovereign statehood, in line with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Somalia considers this declaration a timely and courageous contribution to the growing international consensus in support of justice, peace, and the realization of a two-state solution.
