Somali Cabinet Approves Mutual Visa Waiver Agreement with Egypt for Diplomatic Passport Holders

Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia, chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, approved on Thursday a mutual visa waiver agreement with the Arab Republic of Egypt, allowing diplomatic passport holders from both countries to enter and exit without restrictions for up to 90 days. The agreement reflects the strong diplomatic relations and growing cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The agreement, aimed at enhancing diplomatic ties and bilateral cooperation, was signed on January 23 in Cairo by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty. The signing took place in the presence of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

This development marks a significant step in advancing diplomatic engagement and facilitating official travel between the two nations.
