Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in its regular meeting on Thursday, ratified the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Treaty, a significant step in strengthening regional cooperation and reinforcing the country’s active role within the organization.

The ratification of the treaty underscores the government’s dedication to fostering economic integration, security collaboration, and political coordination among IGAD member states. As Somalia continues to enhance its diplomatic ties, this move is expected to contribute to regional peace and sustainable development, further advancing shared interests among neighboring nations.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Isaak Mohamud Mursal.
