Geneva (MFA Somalia) – The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Isaak Mohamud Mursal, met with Ms. Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration, in Geneva, to review cooperation on migration governance, diaspora engagement, and humanitarian response.

The meeting touched on priorities for engaging the Somali diaspora, highlighting its vital role in promoting development, attracting investment, and enhancing skills transfer, and addressing the challenges posed by drought.
Both sides emphasized the importance of coordinated action, resource mobilization, and continued technical support to strengthen national capacity in migration and humanitarian response.
