Ankara, (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, delivered a speech in Ankara on July 1, on the occasion of Somalia’s 64th Independence Day, in which he stressed Somalia’s future as an advanced and oil-exporting country, and urged graduating students to return and participate in the country’s renaissance.
Minister Ahmed Fiqi underscored the critical role of national unity and solidarity in Somalia’s development. He commended the national army and security forces’ accomplishments in achieving peace and stability, lifting the arms embargo, securing debt relief, joining the East African Community, and Somalia’s election to the United Nations Security Council for 2025-2026.
