Somali FM Discusses Regional Cooperation and Arab Summit Priorities with Arab League Representative

Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, received on Wednesday in his office at the Ministry in the capital, Mogadishu, the Representative of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the League’s Mission to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Amb. Abdullah Mutlaq Al-Otaibi, and discussed with him enhancing cooperation and joint coordination.The meeting included a comprehensive exchange of strategic visions, where both parties emphasized the importance of the upcoming Arab Summit as a key platform for addressing Arab issues in all their dimensions and supporting joint efforts to confront current regional and international challenges, while also reviewing the latest developments in both regional and international arenas, which will contribute to the formulation of sustainable policies aimed at serving the interests of Arab countries.In a related context, the two parties discussed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Arabic Language Conference in Mogadishu, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing cultural identity and strengthening the bonds of civilizational communication between the peoples of the Arab world. His Excellency the Minister highlighted that these efforts are in line with Somalia’s commitment to actively participate in joint Arab action, working towards the formation of a unified front capable of addressing contemporary challenges.At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister reiterated his emphasis on the need to enhance integrated Arab cooperation as a key factor in achieving stability and sustainable development in the region while stressing the importance of collective efforts to address regional challenges.
