Somali FM Discusses Strategic Partnerships with Egyptian Ambassador

Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, received on Wednesday in his office at the Ministry in the capital, Mogadishu, the Ambassador of the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed El-Saeed Ahmed El-Baz, and discussed with him the longstanding bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors.

During the meeting, the longstanding fraternal relations between Somalia and Egypt were reviewed with a particular focus on Egypt’s inclusion in the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) and the importance of implementing the signed bilateral agreements was emphasized as a critical step toward further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.The discussions focused on the importance of expanding strategic partnerships, particularly in key sectors that align with the mutual interests of both nations, and highlighted the need to enhance shared prosperity while supporting the advancement of sustainable development for the benefit of Somalia and Egypt.
