Jeddah (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in politics, the economy, security, health, and education. The Minister emphasized the long-standing relations between the two nations and highlighted the importance of expanding opportunities, including scholarships offered by Pakistan. He also proposed enhancing collaboration in security and institutional development.
Both sides agreed to share expertise in the security, military, and health sectors, in addition to easing visa processes and facilitating the movement of citizens between the two countries.
Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to contribute to Somalia’s stability and to advance cooperation across multiple fields.
