Somali FM Holds Phone Talks with Egyptian Counterpart to Reaffirm Somalia’s Sovereignty

Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs. During the call, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and rejected any unilateral or unlawful actions that undermine national legitimacy or threaten stability in the Horn of Africa.

The two ministers emphasized that any violation of Somalia’s unity constitutes a breach of international law and poses a threat to international peace and security. They reiterated their rejection of attempts to impose new facts on the ground or to establish illegitimate entities, and expressed their firm stance against plans to displace the Palestinian people from their land, considering such acts contrary to international law.
