Mogadishu (MFASomalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, officially inaugurated English, Swahili, and Amharic language courses at the Diplomatic Institute in Mogadishu, which will be offered to 70 employees from various departments of the ministry.
Minister Fiqi emphasized the importance of cultivating a generation of knowledgeable, multilingual diplomats who will enhance Somalia’s representation on the global stage in the pursuit of national interests. He also underscored the institute’s role in producing research papers and hosting political and security forums.
The minister outlined plans to expand diplomatic training programs within the country, while also arranging for teams to receive specialized training in brotherly, friendly, and allied countries, aiming to enhance the skills and expertise of Somalia’s diplomatic corps.
Amb. Abdulkadir Amin Sheikh, Director of the Diplomatic Institute, revealed that the institute is set to resume its one-year higher diploma courses, with plans to launch the program in September.
