Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, on Wednesdat launched “The Diplomat” magazine, the first publication of its kind issued by the Ministry since Somalia gained independence in 1960.
The magazine aims to highlight the country’s recovery journey and its cultural, economic, social, and political development. The launch event, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, was attended by Senator Maj. Gen. Abdi Hassan Awale (Qaybdid), the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, H.E. Hamza Adan Haadoow, departmental directors, and representatives from several national banks.
Minister Ahmed Fiqi noted that the publication reflects the Ministry’s dedication to promoting informed diplomacy. He encouraged diplomats, scholars, and institutions to contribute innovative ideas and feature national products and services as a means to promote the country’s image abroad and attract foreign investment.
