New York, (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, participated on Tuesday in New York in a high-level meeting of like-minded Global South countries hosted over high tea by India’s External Affairs Minister, H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar.
Speaking at the gathering, the Minister highlighted the importance of solidarity among Global South nations in addressing pressing challenges, including climate change, food insecurity, conflict, and debt distress, which disproportionately affect developing countries
“The country is deeply honored to join this important gathering and expresses its appreciation to the Government of India for its leadership,” he said.
He reaffirmed the commitment to working with international partners to promote a multilateral system that supports lasting peace, sustainable development, and inclusive prosperity for all.
“This moment calls for a unified and resolute voice to shape fairer multilateral responses and to advocate for equitable representation within global decision-making institutions, including the United Nations Security Council and international financial and development frameworks”
