Somali FM Participates in Rome’s First Italophony Conference

Rome (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, participated today in the First International Conference on Italophony at Villa Madama in Rome. The event is designed to strengthen the global role of the Italian language, bringing together institutions and countries to promote cooperation, culture, and shared development.

The conference was convened by H.E. Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Foreign Minister, in collaboration with H.E. Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of Universities and Research, H.E. Andrea Riccardi, President of the Società Dante Alighieri, and H.E. Paola Frassinetti, Undersecretary of State for Education, providing an international platform for dialogue, cultural exchange, and strengthened cooperation.

During the event, the Italophony Community was formally established to foster cooperation and promote the Italian language in diplomacy, culture, and economics.

Minister Abdisalam held sideline talks with his Italian counterpart, H.E. Antonio Tajani, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing educational and cultural initiatives, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in governance and development.
