Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, received on Sunday, in his office at the Ministry, the Ambassador of the brotherly Republic of Sudan to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed Abakr Afandi, and discussed with him strengthening the historical relations between the two countries and exploring new horizons for cooperation in various fields.During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the evolving security and political situation in Sudan.The Minister affirmed Somalia’s solidarity with the Sudanese government and people, renewed his support for efforts to restore stability and strengthen national unity, expressed hope for a peaceful and unified Sudan, and emphasized the need for closer coordination between the two brotherly countries to overcome regional complexities and enhance stability.Minister Ahmed Faqi reiterated Somalia’s firm commitment to respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs and strongly rejected calls and attempts to form a parallel government.
