Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ali Mohamed Omar, received on Wednesday in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, a copy of the credentials of the newly appointed European Union Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Ms. Francesca Di Mauro.
Minister Ali Omar welcomed Ambassador Di Mauro to her new role, expressing hope for her success in enhancing collaboration and understanding, and assuring her that the ministry will facilitate engagement with the European Union on shared objectives, while promoting development and other joint initiatives.
The European Union is seen as a key partner in advancing governance, development, humanitarian aid, and peacebuilding in Somalia.
