Somalia and Algeria Seek New Avenues for Partnership

Addis Ababa (MFA Somalia)– The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Ali Mohamed Omar, met on Tuesday in Addis Ababa with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs of the brotherly People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria ahead of the African Union Executive Council session and discussed with him enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting addressed several key topics, such as advancing bilateral relations, exploring new avenues for partnership and joint coordination, reviewing previous understandings between the two countries, and emphasizing the importance of continuing mutual coordination during their non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, especially within the framework of (A3+) to effectively amplify Africa’s voice in international forums.
