Somalia and Djibouti sign MoU on political consultations in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, received his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Amb. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar, on Saturday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation for mutual benefit.
The meeting addressed a wide range of issues, including security cooperation, regional stability, and international matters of common concern. Both ministers emphasized the importance of close coordination to promote peace, development, and prosperity in the Horn of Africa.
During the meeting, the two ministries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on political consultations, creating a structured mechanism for regular dialogue between Somalia and Djibouti. The agreement is expected to strengthen diplomatic collaboration and advance joint priorities at both regional and global levels.
Somalia and Djibouti, bound by deep historical, cultural, and brotherly ties, continue to build on their longstanding partnership through ongoing engagement and cooperation.
