Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has successfully evacuated 145 Somali citizens from Libya, ensuring their safe return home after they faced various challenges and voluntarily opted for repatriation as part of the government’s commitment to protecting its nationals abroad and addressing humanitarian concerns.
Upon their arrival at Aden Abdulle International Airport, the returnees were received by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Isaak Mohamud Mursal, who reaffirmed the government’s dedication to assisting citizens facing hardship abroad.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister Isaak Mursal highlighted the ministry’s continuous efforts in collaboration with international partners to ensure the safe repatriation of vulnerable Somali nationals. He emphasized that the government remains steadfast in its duty to protect and support its people, particularly in conflict zones and crisis situations.
This repatriation marks another milestone in Somalia’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the welfare of its diaspora and strengthen international cooperation in humanitarian and migration affairs.
