Somalia Takes the Helm of UN Security Council with Flag-Raising Ceremony in New York

New York (MFA Somalia)- Somalia has officially assumed the presidency of the United Nations Security Council following a formal flag-raising ceremony held at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event marked Somalia’s leadership role within the Council and its diplomatic engagement and contribution to international peace and security.

The presidency reflects Somalia’s responsibilities as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, including chairing meetings, coordinating Council activities, and promoting dialogue on pressing global and regional issues in line with the principles of the UN Charter.
