Somalia’s Foreign Minister Meets Libya’s Prime Minister to Advance Bilateral Cooperation

Tripoli (MFA Somalia) – H.E.Abdisalam Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, held a strategic meeting today in Tripoli with H.E. Abdul Hamid Al-Dbeibah, Prime Minister of the State of Libya.

During the meeting, the Minister delivered an official message from the Somali Prime Minister, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre, to the Office of the Prime Minister of Libya, reaffirming Somalia’s commitment to advancing strong bilateral relations and structured cooperation.

Discussions focused on priority areas of mutual interest, including migration management, protection of Somali nationals, and enhanced diplomatic coordination on regional developments.

The engagement comes at a critical moment, as both countries intensify efforts to address irregular migration and strengthen cooperation against transnational challenges affecting their regions.

Both sides underscored the importance of sustained, results-oriented engagement and agreed to maintain close coordination through diplomatic channels, reflecting Somalia’s proactive role in advancing regional stability and responsible international partnership.
