Mogadishu (MFA Somalia) – The Federal Republic of Somalia and the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday marked a significant milestone in their growing bilateral partnership with the official inauguration of the Center for Research on Chinese Modernization at the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, H.E. Hamza Haadow, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, H.E. Wang Yu, alongside other distinguished guests. The establishment of the Center reflects a shared commitment to advancing knowledge exchange, deepening mutual understanding, and promoting collaborative research in areas of strategic importance.
As the Ministry’s premier training and research arm, the Diplomatic Institute continues to play a central role in preparing Somalia’s diplomatic cadre and strengthening the country’s engagement on the global stage through education, policy research, and international cooperation.
