The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Engages with the Somali Community in Egypt

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, currently undertaking an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, held a meeting with members of the Somali community residing in Cairo. The gathering, hosted by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Cairo, was held at the embassy’s premises and served as a platform for constructive dialogue and engagement.

During the event, the Minister delivered a comprehensive update on Somalia’s progress and the state of the robust and mutually beneficial relations between Somalia and Egypt. Members of the Somali community, including university students and business professionals, took the opportunity to share their experiences, highlight the challenges they face, and present recommendations to enhance the support they receive.

The gathering, deemed a significant success, was attended by H.E. Ambassador Ali Abdi Awaare, Somalia’s Ambassador to Egypt; H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Ali Barre, Djibouti’s Ambassador to Egypt; Mr. Dahir Mohamud Geelle, Advisor to the President of Somalia; and diplomats from the embassies of Somalia and Djibouti.
